This winter recruitment period is typically a period of intense rumour and potential big-money moves. Numerous high-profile footballers find themselves linked with moves away from their present teams. We examine some of the top figures who might be changing clubs this month.

Antoine Semenyo

Although Ghana's inability to qualify for the AFCON, this has left the forward in contention, indications are a major transfer is imminent. Additionally, there are suggestions from Spanish media that he is prepared to take a reduced salary for a move to Real Madrid.

Marc-André ter Stegen

The veteran German goalkeeper finds himself as the third option at Barça following new manager Flick. After lost his place and had an operation, a January departure looks increasingly likely. Juventus are eager to tie down the youngster to a new long-term contract but face a battle to keep one of the continent's most promising prospects.

This much-admired Dutch teenage midfielder has drawn parallels to Kevin De Bruyne for his style of play. Following starring at the Under-19 European Championship, he has broken into the AZ Alkmaar side. The teenager is heavily tipped to make a major move this month. Newcastle United reportedly are leading the chase, but are facing strong rivalry from Real Madrid for a signing valued at approximately twenty-two million pounds.
